Our Kidz Korner page is meant to represent issues facing our children with respects to education, health, warning signals, scholarships they can apply for and more. If you have a recent graduate, send a photo to the GCM to announce their joyous occasion.
Below are two great reads for parents and our children, 1) Addressing allergies which play a significant part in the dos and don't for our children. Know what they are eating and understand the causes and affects. "11 Surprising Facts About Allergies" is a great book to read to protect your little ones and love ones. 2) Bullying is also a challenge for our children. When a child becomes withdraw and you don't know why, Khalil's Way is a great story to read with your child(ren) or have them to read for understanding.
Remember our scholarship's list is updated every two weeks. Glance through, share with others and Give your Graduate(s) a chance to meet their college goals.

David Miller, Co-Founder of the Urban Leadership Institute, has
stepped up to the task of engaging youth in a discussion about community
violence in his new book called…. KHALIL’S WAY
Khalil’s Way is a much-needed book to support the emotional challenges facing children every day in America’s schools. At a time when so many children are unable to tell their parents about the victimization from which they suffer, Khalil’s Way provides the skills and confidence they need to not only tell adults but also deal with the social bully” ~ Dr. Alan Green, professor of Counseling and Education – University of Southern California (USC)

During the book talk with Mr. Miller, youth are encouraged to
explore alternatives to violence while living in tough communities. The book specifically deals with a young boy growing up in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina rips his family apart. The goal is for students to take the first step towards self-empowerment.
Khalil's Way is currently being used in schools and detention facilities in Philly, Chicago, Baltimore, Newark, New Orleans, New York and a host of other communities.
Mr. Miller has also developed one of the most comprehensive Rites of Passage curricula for adolescent African American males called “Dare to be King.” Check out a recent article about our work – “Being young, black and safe”
